Does anyone really believe that "more than half of New Zealand adults are overweight or obese"? Words like 'crisis', 'epidemic' and 'danger' are spread like five types of cheese on a triple deep pizza in these reports. In Britain they're expecting 12 million obese adults by 2010. I have a hunch that the worry itself will usher a few off this mortal coil.
What strikes me is how well the human body functions even when carrying a few extra pounds.
Psalm 139:14 (kjv)
I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
I reckon we're not that bad.
